Information for the Research Database
Project title                
In this category you can find information on different project titles in the database.

Researchers
This category consists of details concerning the research-institute and the researcher. For more information on biographies, contact details and so on you will find an (extern) link to an internet page.

Organization/groups   
In this category CTC categorizes the different research projects into organizations/ groups and persons.

Countries/areas  
This category enables researchers to search on geographical areas and countries.

Time frame
All the research projects in the database are subdivided into timeframes. For example, research done towards the 09/11/2001 terrorist attacks are categorized under 1990-present.

This category consists of the different forms of counterterrorism. The following subcategories are distinguished:

Polarization
In this category you will find publications on the different forms of polarization.

Terrorism
CTC holds the view that there are many different types of terrorism. Nevertheless, it is impossible to cover all of them. For that reason, the list with types of terrorism is incomplete. In this list you can find the most common types of terrorism. This categorization is partly based on the list made by the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security (NCTV).

Radicalism
In this category you will find the different forms of radicalization. By creating this category CTC followed the division made by the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security (NCTV) in the Nota Radicalisme en Radicalisering. 

Academic discipline
In order to categorize the different disciplines in the (research) database, CTC uses the academic disciplines of Leiden University as a starting point.

Policy-issues             
For the division in policy issues, CTC uses some of the most important policy topics within several Dutch Ministries. A subdivision into more specific topics/ entry words is made.

Policymaker
CTC distinguishes between researchers in Terrorism, Counterterrorism and Radicalization and policymakers, who are related to the Terrorism, Counterterrorism and
Radicalization topic but not doing research themselves. In this section, you will find a list of policymakers in the Netherlands and later on also abroad.

Organization
In this category you will find a list of policy related organizations.

Keywords
It is also possible to search on keywords. In this section you will find them all.

Within the ego-documents part of the database it is possible to search on organizations, type of documents , types of terrorism and areas/countries.
